Then & Now, a Solo Exhibition

Hi Everyone.

It has been some time. During the hiatus, I've been working mainly on strengthening skills in portraiture and tonal studies in painting at the Watts Atelier. It has been my intention to also up-scale some of my smaller en plein air works that I produced last year and turn them into more finished studio paintings.

But, there's some more significant news that I'd like to share with you: I've been busy working on preparing for my first solo exhibition!

The exhibition will be a collection of 9 works that cover three phases: figures and portraits from my Honours body of work (work completed at university), some en plein air landscapes completed shortly after university, and some darker 'darkscapes' as I like to call them.

As part of the show, I will also be offering fine art prints and larger prints available to purchase.

The show itself will be held at Maker & Co, in Bunbury, Western Australia, from the 29th March - 21st April 2019.

In addition to this, I will also be teaching an art workshop at Maker & Co that will be focused on sharing mark-making techniques I use when drawing landscapes from life

Attached below is a small preview poster I created - featuring one work from each of the previously mentioned phases.

Hopefully I will see some of you there on the opening night. If not, I will take a host of photos and do another blog run for the workshop and opening night.

Until then, I wish you all the best in your creative pursuits.

Tom.
